Our Statement
Scelus is the next exciting project by Liam Pinheiro-Rogers.
Discover a world that juxtaposes the grittiness of an inner London tale and the shadowy confines of a ghost story. Dealing with the themes of regret and redemption, Scelus is set in a world where the living are able to contact the dead. But what does someone do when they have that ability?
Imagine a haunting-in-reverse, where the living characters terrorise the dead with their presence in a shocking twist on the genre.
Inspired by his experience as a youth worker for a charity in North London and the current discussions on prison reform in the UK, Liam was motivated to create a story with a fresh and unique perspective. After London’s Forgotten, Liam’s award winning and BAFTA qualifying short film on knife crime, he wanted to continue that streak of making moody genre-blending films with a rare, authentic look into the world of ex-convicts and questions about rehabilitation..
Since London’s Forgotten’s success, Liam has been on the trajectory of fulfilling his dream of making feature films. His next story, Scelus, will be his first venture into that realm, with a proof of concept short film in 2025 kick starting the momentum. Our short film will be the first chapter of a groundbreaking feature film, one that hasn’t been attempted before but one that needs to be told now.
Liam aims to create a new short film that further pushes his passion for dispelling normative tropes in film, with focus on a character driven socially conscious narrative and a unique fantastical story. We want you to have an edge-of-the-seat experience and have a never-before-seen story to ponder about after the credits have rolled.
And we need your support to get our short film off the ground.
